Welcome to the Wheat King Alumni Website

On behalf of the Brandon Wheat Kings Alumni, I would like to welcome you to KINGS KORNER, the official website of the BWK Alumni.

In November 2007 the Alumni Executive added two new members to our board. We are pleased to announce that former players Greg Phillips and Alex Argyriou have joined the team. Other members include Kelly McCrimmon, Dwayne Gylywochuk, Wayne Wilhelm, Mark Kolesar, and Patricia Adair (Secretary).

Back in September 2007 we held an Alumni Night for the 2007-2008 season opener. We were very pleased with the turn out at our inaugural Home Opener Alumni event. It was a great opportunity to renew some old friendships and for players of different eras to meet and share their Wheat King roots. The evening involved some story telling, good food, and a pint or two while enjoying the game! We look forward to building on this event again next year. In December we held our first Christmas Breakfast at the Canad Inn. Approximately 150 people attended our early morning breakfast (adults & children) and in doing so, raised money for the Wheat King Education fund. The present day Wheat Kings were in attendance, had their picture taken with the kids while mingling among Wheat King Supporters during breakfast. Santa Claus and Willie the Wheat King mascot also made an appearance which added to the flavour of the Christmas event.

Please make sure you have left your schedule open to attend our BWK Alumni Reunion which will take place July 24, 25, 26, 2008. We are currently in the planning stages so stay tuned to our site for further information.

As we look forward to spring we turn our attention to our current team and the playoffs. We are extremely proud of the team?s success this year given prognosticators envisioned a rebuilding season. We wish the team well down the stretch and appreciate their dedication and commitment to success.
