Brandon, Manitoba -- Final preparations are underway for the 2012 Brandon Wheat Kings' Hockey School, scheduled to be held at Westman Communications Group Place from July 30th - August 3rd.
This summer's School will feature four divisions - Bantam, Pee Wee, Atom, and Novice – with only a handful of openings remaining for the weeklong camp that features several current and former members of the Western Hockey League club as guest instructors.
The Hockey School is under the direction of Brandon head coach Dwayne Gylywoychuk and asssistant Wheat Kings' coach Darren Ritchie.
Among those instructors expected to be on hand for this year's camp include former Wheat King captains Ryan Craig and Matt Calvert. Others scheduled to help out with the on ice sessions include former Wheat Kings Colby Robak, David Toews, Scott Hlady and Brodie Melnychuk as well as current players Ryan Pulock, Ryley Miller and Jens Meilleur.
Both Calvert and Craig are currently members of the Columbus Blue Jackets' organization while Robak and Toews are with both Florida and Chicago respectively.
Registration for this year's Hockey School will be held first thing Monday morning, with the on ice sessions set to begin that same day.
The annual event will feature a special barbecue as well as a scrimmage game to cap off an exciting week for both the players and instructors.
