Brandon, MB. – The Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings have reassigned 16-year old rookie Ryley Lindgren to the Winnipeg Thrashers of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.

A 5’10” 165 lb native of East St. Paul, Manitoba, Lindgren was Brandon’s fifth round selection (96th overall) in the 2011 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Lindgren, who scored fourteen goals and 27 points in 43 games for the AAA Sharks in Winnipeg last season, appeared in Brandon’s 3-2 season opening victory over the Regina Pats on Friday night. In three pre-season games, he had one assist and one minor penalty.

The Wheat Kings, who play host to the Saskatoon Blades tonight at Westman Place, now have twenty-five players on their active roster – two goalkeepers, eight defenceman and 15 forwards.

Brandon is coming off a weekend home and home series sweep of the Regina Pats while Saskatoon split its opening weekend series with the Prince Albert Raiders.

Tickets to tonight's game are on sale at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at www.keystonecentre.com

Speaking of tickets, the WHL club has announced that 2,550 season tickets have been sold for the 2012-13 season, which is approximately 250 fewer than what was sold by this point last fall. In 2011, the Wheat Kings sold over one hundred following the Home Opener and they're hoping to do the same this season.

The Wheat Kings wound up selling over 2,900 season tickets in 2011-12.
