Brandon, MB. -- Details have been finalized for the Stanley Cup’s visit to Brandon this coming Monday.
Former Wheat Kings Ron Hextall and Darren Granger will be in Brandon this Monday for a public photograph / autograph session at the Keystone Centre's Convention Hall from 11 am to 1 pm.
Hextall, who played three seasons with the Wheat Kings, is currently the vice president and assistant general manager of the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings. "Hexie" played thirteen years in the National Hockey League during a career that saw him win both the Vezina and Conn Smythe trophies as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Granger, who was raised in Brandon and played all of his minor hockey here spent a total of five years as trainer of the Western Hockey League club before graduating to the NHL. He has spent the past six years with the Kings.
Keywest Photo will be on hand this Monday for the photo session with the Cup, with each photo costing $10. Proceeds will go to Hockey Brandon, Big Brothers and Sisters and the Brandon United Way.
