Center Brayden Schenn

Brandon, Manitoba -- The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings have learned that 18-year old center Brayden Schenn has been returned to the club by the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings.

Los Angeles' first pick and fifth overall selection in June's NHL Entry Draft in Montreal is coming off an impressive Training Camp and pre-season with the Kings that saw the Saskatoon product score two goals in 5 exhibition games.

Schenn's return means that left-winger Matt Calvert is the lone Wheat King still away at an NHL Camp. The 20-year old local product has been skating with the Columbus Blue Jackets and all indications are that he's been excellent.

A former WHL Rookie of the Year, Schenn has led the Wheat Kings in scoring the past two seasons. In 136 career games, the 6' 192 lb center has scored sixty goals and 159 points. As well, he has accumulated 126 minutes in penalties.

Schenn and the Wheat Kings don't see action again until this weekend when they kick off a 4-game homestand with games against Red Deer and Saskatoon on Friday and Saturday nights respectively.

Tickets for both games go on sale first thing Tuesday morning at the Keystone Centre box office. Fans can also order by phone at 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca
